Good news end a bad week.

For my basement flood -Good news. The only thing that got fried in the studio was the powersupply. I am grateful I didn't lose my computers after all. I washed my quilts and repacked them already. The one I was worried about, My everyday Angels, didn't get wet.

Staying up most of the night saturday helped keep down the damage. We were able to move things into the spare room. Everything else that was damaged was removed yesterday, and the industrial size fans did a great job overnight drying the walls and the floors. I love my insurance company.

I'm really happy to hear the quilts survived. Now aren't you glad you didn't let yourself fret over them -- all the while they were ok.

that really is great news. hope you can stay on top of this latest storm.

Funny to hear I wasn't the only one sitting at my computer while three inches of water sat in my basement. I sat at my computer from 11:30 p. on Thursday when it began raining and said, "let me go check on the sunk pump." Well, I said that about 25 more times in my brain before I went to downstairs before heading to bed at 4:50a, I went to my basement and it was flooded. I screamed loud enough to wake up the entire house and proceeded to bed for 1.5 hours to sleep before work. My husband cleaned up the mess on Friday, he took a half of day. When he came home later to check on the basement, it was flooded again. The plug wasn't pushed into the wall tight or something. I haven't had water in my basement for five years since I got it waterproof. My insurance company told me they don't cover water that comes in the basement so consider yourself BLESSED. I lost a brand new carpet but most of all can't stand the smell of old water or dampness. I been running the humidifier day and now. I felt like an unfit wife still doing homework while my husband struggled to get up water.

So glad to hear this worked out okay. I'm especially happy for you that the quilts survived. I know it takes a great deal of time to quilt and you probably poured in some of your heart and soul into those.
